Eat & drink
At the Crown & Anchor we support British farmers and artisan award winning producers. We use the finest seasonal ingredients often locally sourced to create dishes that celebrate traditional British cooking with a contemporary twist.
Booking is highly recommended especially for weekends and our Sunday lunch, which includes our very popular roast with all the trimmings.
We pride ourselves on our vegan and vegetarian options and catering for Gluten free.
The dining room
Our dining rooms are designed to be light and welcoming in summer and winter. The lower room has all the theatre of watching the kitchen at work. It is decorated in soft yellow and teal with settle seats and snaffle straps, and comfortable banquettes whilst the walls are hung with work from local artists.
The second dining room is a light and airy room looking onto the garden terrace. The doors open wide in the summer and the walls are covered with nearby landscapes of walks by a local artist.
The bar is a welcoming place to enjoy a drink or meal. Comfortable sofas with cricket tables, set in our panelled bar with flag stone flooring and a roaring fire.
Cosy up around the fire, four legged companion at your heel, with a local brewed ale and home made bar snacks. Or watch the world go slowly by from our favourite table in the window.
Our Private dining room can be closed off to the rest of the pub, seating up to 30 people for drinks with space onto the garden terrace.
Whether you are planning an intimate gathering, a shooting party or a larger celebration it is perfectly suited for private dinners and parties.
OUR OUTDOOR TERRACE
Our terrace will be a designated eating area only, tables to the front and garden area will remain free for those who wish to enjoy a long – awaited drink.
The terrace is covered with our stretched tent and with our heaters & rugs, you will not need to worry about the British weather letting you down. This means you can focus on the important food, drink, family and friends!
The Crown & Anchor, a Free House, offers its own local Ham 1840 Bitter from the local Penton Park Brewery, alongside a range of other real ales and a selection of artisan lagers and scrumptious ciders.
Our wine list is carefully selected to augment our food. The affordable and accessible list has wine from across the major wine growing regions of the world with a focus on classic varietals and blends from wonderful vineyards.
